My husband is home

He was released Tues.evenning.He is so happy to be home,however he will not listen to me & take the meds he is to take.He sees the family doctor on Tues.,I hate to do it,but I may have to have a nurse come in & nag him,get him up,ect.He must take the medicine,he will not try herbs either.I have been able to get him to take milk thistle & turmeric.
He was hospitalized for ascites fluid in the abdominal cavity.It was infected.His bloodwork was so out of wack he needed blood,& 8 days after being in the hospital,they had to send for platelets to do a procedure to take off this fluid which was going into his lungs.He had 7 lbs.of fluid taken off,can you imagine? He looked like he delivered a baby.
What happens is,when your liver is not working properly there is pressure in the portal vein.The red blood cells are too large to pass through the walls of the veins,but the blood plasma is not.It is pushed out into the space surrounding the intestines,the peritoneal cavity.This is where his fluid is.The doctors took off the fluid while he was awake,it was painful, he said.He also had fluid in his lungs,but the hope is he can get that out himself without tapping into that cavity.He sees our family doc on Tues.He will get a doctor`s order to have this fluid taken off in the future as an outpatient.
Since he came home,he can hardly walk.He has not been outside,as beautiful as it has been!
Tonight I went to my brother`s home to borrow my mom`s walker that has wheels on it & a seat.Perhaps he will get out to enjoy the beautiful weather now.
Mom`s cat,Pumpkin,knew the walker right away,& it broke my heart to watch him rub all over it to get her scent on him .She would take him for rides all the time.

Musings

It was a surprise in a way to see that Judy,over at Knit Quilt Weave is also spinning what I am spinning,the same fiber that I have oodles of stored.I sent her some many months ago after she sent me a beautiful prayer quilt.I need to dye more colors to blend with this blend of mohair & wool.I did start on the autumn colors that I dyed myself,but I put some angelina glittery fiber in with it for some jazz as I have done here with the blue/purple colors.
It helps me to think spinning,sitting outside with the dogs,camera at my side,watching nature.
My RA doctor has a nurse practioner working with him now,& she sure is an angel.I was telling her today about my husband & the stress that I`m going through.I can`t understand why the dh doesn`t just take his meds on time,get up & fight this disease,try harder.Today & last night I discovered another leak in the copper pipe in the basement,he is just now getting out of bed to fix it at 4pm.I had bought the pipe at Lowes on my way home from the doctor`s.I ought to be down there watching so next time I can do it myself.The NP said to me-I didn`t tell her about the woes of no water-maybe he is just tired.He is just plain too tired to fight anymore.She saw that I was reading Beth Moores new book & she said about the book & whispered,you know you are not alone in this.I almost cried & gave her a hug.She was so kind & knew the exact words to say to me today.
Now for a stroll through what I`ve been doing & seeing.
My husband,and son,have a "thing" for picking up FREE stuff along the road.Well,he picked up these metal bed rails that I finally spray painted & put out in the yard ,it is a section of the yard that I kept getting the mower stuck in because 20 years ago our trees fell in  straightline winds that came through,& the guys helping us with the clean-up buried the stumps in the ground.Well,now the ground is settling & we are getting an uneven ground to navigate on.So,this is one area of wildflowers I have planted the bed rails marking the spot not to mow.
We have lots of swallow-tail butterflies now,still no monarchs yet.I have been pruning & pruning.As you can see,it is still a jungle here.

I am sorry that I have been MIA,a very bad blogger.I wanted to continue on with the true story about different things that happenned along the way after my husband`s transplant,I WILL witness it for God,but right now I can`t.I just cannot.
We got news we were not expecting.No one will transplant a second time in our core area in patients with Hep C.The "policy"has changed. They will not do a private transplant a second time either from a donor in your family.With all the increased knowledge that they have,they refuse.My husband has had his for 20 years!!! That is the limit on transplanted livers with Hep C.One more,we would all be happy,not going through this awful knowledge that he could be saved,but they won`t help him.It is scary.

I found someone on facebook who ,I believe,God has used to help me,& him also.They are not getting a saving liver transplant for someone in their family who is only in their 50`s either,this person has never HAD a transplant,& it is genitic,not hep c,no fault of their own that they need one.I can`t hardly believe that this is what it has come down to.
I still believe in using herbs.I ordered a special formula for hep C patients according to the book,Herbs for Hep C and the liver by Stephen Harrod Buhner,an excellent book for ref as to where to buy herbs,foods to eat,all sorts of things.My husband will not try them.He has given up.I nag,but nagging not only makes me feel bad,but I believe that your spirit has to be willing to help yourself heal.He will be seeing his pysc doc tomorrow,maybe she can help him in some way.
I too have Hep C.I believe I got it from nursing those patients who had it.Years ago I learned that had I known,I could have been reimbersed from my state job if I had filed sooner.Thank-you,Pa.state,for not letting your employees know this!!! Also,you may never realize that you even have it.I learned by accident when my RA doctor wanted to put me on methotrate-cannot spell!-& he tested me first.You can`t be on it if you have something wrong with your liver.That`s how I discovered it.I even let my job know that I had it while I was still working directly with the hep c patients.They said only if I bleed,please don`t allow anyone to touch me without gloves.In the meantime,there are my fellow workers who now I believe should have went & been tested for themselves as we all came in contact with those residents.I even belonged to the union AFSME! They were mentally ill patients who routinely threw urninels at you,spit on you,some of the worse ones to care for.
I never had to have a transplant.I was treated with the meds that they have out now,but it did not help.So,I am using the herbs & have been reading on everything I can about using weeds & things in your own backyard for healing yourself.God created this world,& everything in it,I believe there is a way to help yourself,with His help.
I made my first tincture of dandelion this spring,which should be ready for try soon.Dandelion is helpful for your liver.And it is free,in your yard!

Thursday my rabbit,Dori,had 11 babies to Cloud.11!! I had just took in 4 from Sherry Tenney on Mon.who asked me to give them a good home.I forgot I may have my own again.3 of the ones I got from her were a different breed than I have,Jersey Woolies who only get 1-3 lbs.

I want to blog about a few friends I`ve made over the years writing on this blog.I will start with Debra.I just received a gift in the mail from her,the gift was such a surprise it left me speechless-really-I couldn`t write anything for a few days.She is an awesome Christian friend I met on here years ago when I commented on her groundhog,of all things!!
Debra just got published in Haute Handbags,a Stampington publishing co.,I get alot of their books,just to try to get myself jump started in creating again by looking at their Prims mag,or Art Doll Quarterly,or the Softies mag.It is HUGE to be on the front page,she has more than one article devoted to her craft in the book.
But getting back to my friend,she made me this awesome bag.It is perfect for gathering herbs for my tinctures that I`ve become interested in making.Yes Debra,I plan on using the bag alot & will smile when I take it with me knowing that you are in another state,far apart,but I feel your prayers surrounding me when I carry it.Love you,Debra.
BTW,my husband`s doctor phoned me last week,& told me that his medical records are now in the hands of Hershey Medical Center,which is not as far as Pittsburgh for us to travel,& told me to be patient,it may be a month or so,but it is all in God`s hands now.
May 23rd,1993 was when he was transplanted with the first liver due to Hep C in Pittsburgh.It will soon be 20 years.Pittsburgh does not do second livers in patients with Hep C.Nor do they do donated pieces of liver with a second time.A new "policy" for the hospital.
