I have not been participating in world bird Wed.lately, have a little too much to cope with in my life right now.I have a little time this am to place my pictures in the group.
They are the usual birds in my woods & yard.Have you noticed that the robin`s breast seems so much redder this year?
This nuthatch`s coloring is lighter than the others who feed off the suet.
The red-bellied has a nice hole made in the electrical pole at the top.
The brown thrashers are feeding their babies now.The finches have nested on top of the grape arbor, sure to have the first bite of the concords.
And this little chipmunk is in the chokecherry trees,I grabbed my camera thinking it was some sort of new bird,& had to laugh as he manuvered his way into the branches of the trees. They must be tasty to climb that far into the tree.
So,go visit the springman`s blog & upload your bird pictures for this Wed.The link ishttp://pineriverreview.blogspot.com/

World Bird Wed.
Today is world bird Wed.once again. To join us fellow birdwatchers, select this link & show us your birds you watched this week.http://pineriverreview.blogspot.com/
Today I stayed outside most of the morn & afternoon & was able to get these photos. The red-bellies are working deep in the woods & the tufted titmouse joined me once or twice as if to say,"why are you deep down here, you should be up at the feeder!"
The house finch sang most of the time as did the house wren, going in & out of this gourd, making it into a home.
The bluejays got in a fight with the squirrel.I don`t know if this is the same squirrel, but 2 hawks flew in & killed the squirrel-a lot of trees away, then left it hanging dead.I watched till I had to leave with hubby to an appt.,then noticed later the dead squirrel was gone.Sometimes I hate to watch nature. The poor squirrel cried & cried, don`t know if it was THE squirrel or a family member of the squirrel.
No comings & goings at the big stick nest.I should blog at this point that during the winter,a buck was shot legally here & the head left on a barrel at the side of the garage. The person who shot it forgot about it,& a smell began to gather at the garage, where the coyotoe was seen.Since no one volunteered to move this smelly thing{SOMEONE wanted a skull with horns}& I just couldn`t take it anymore as OTHERS became ILL when trying to move the head,I finally took the task on as I usually have too.[Tell me,what good are male members of the family?}& took the head down in the woods & hoisted it up on a tree & tied it fast. Now,mind you,I`m only 120lbs.,it was not easy, but you have to do what you have to do.So I fully expect alot of upcoming hawk or vulture pictures for my efforts.

World Bird Wed.
My yard & forest is becoming full of birdlife again as the doves are cooing, cardinals singing & robins too,I don`t mind waking up to those sounds.
My mom has not been good & my brother & I had several appts. for her to go to this week,as well as having my granddaughter today,so I have just a few to share that I`ve shared with our birders before.
The dark eyed juncos are taking baths & getting cleaned up for their migration from here in Pa. till Oct. next year when they start to file back in.The doves were seen out & about making nests.the female cardinals have been eating alot at the feeder,I`m wondering if they already laid eggs.
My poor beef tallow orange bag is still hanging,no one interested byt the juncos yet.I was told of a coyotoe in our area & I know it is probably smelling the tallow.Maybe it`s time to take it further into the woods!Well, birders, this is the day to share your weekly photos at this link.http://pineriverreview.blogspot.com/

World Bird Wed.
I have the ordinary backyard birds to share this week.I hope by next week to be drawing in different birds as I took out some beef tallon I had frozen to make soap with & decided to stuff a mesh bag that had oranges in it from walmart that I saved with the tallon,& hung it out to see what it brings.I hope to have a structure made to hold numerous blocks of wood that I can hang bags of suet from as one guy in Pa. does,he has lots of pileateds coming to his yard for his huge blocks of suet.I have high hopes & will dream on....,anyhow,here`s pictures I took from the yard today,a black capped chickadee,a male cardinal,a titmouse,& a white throated sparrow at the feeder.
Today is the day to show us your birds at the springman`s bloghttp://pineriverreview.blogspot.com/

World Bird Wed.
I`ve blogged about the bluejay before, but as there is nothing really different happening at the feeder when I get a chance to watch,I`m putting up the bluejay again. He?was singing his bell-like song, dipping his head as he sings, nothing like the usual squacking that they do,I can only assume he was trying to impress a lady bird.
To enter your birds this Wed.,please go to the springman`s blog,he hosts this weekly for us backyard birdwatchers,at this linkhttp://pineriverreview.blogspot.com/

World Bird Wed.
Today you should go visit the springman & participate in his showing of birds from all over the world.Read peoples stories, join in the fun! The link ishttp://pineriverreview.blogspot.com/
I`m lucky to still be awake. What a day.The goats all escaped agin today & Hendrix was stuck TWICE today in the wire how can they get their head & horns though that small space?!so I gave up & herded them back to the old pen.The dh mucked it out with the tractor as I helped throw "stuff"on the bucket of the tractor. The goats were penned in the barn.I swear,if anyone would`ve come along today & said, give them to me,I have tons of pasture for them to run in with ELECTRIC fencing,I would`ve gladly loaded them up for them.I was so pissed today.Jimi wanted to butt me-gently but meaningfully-because his twin brother Hendrix kept getting caught with his head in the wire of the panel. But,it is done now,so here is what I can offer this week to the meme, the rose breasted grosbeaks are still here, this is the longest they have spent with me ever, the purple house finch off to the bottom of the left in the picture, the carolina wren was stocking up suet in crevices of trees, the hummingbird-just one-is still here with the catbirds. The brown thrashers may have left yesterday,I did not see them today.
What makes them think that their head & horns will fit through that space?Thank the Lord I only had 1 goat continually get stuck over & over, not all of them!Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!

Rose Breasted Grosbeaks are here!
Yeah.....! I saw them & knew that they were here the past few days, but only was able to get their pictures today. They stop here twice a year, usually May & Sept. when they are migrating to breeding areas in the spring to the north & to the south for the winter. They feed on sunflower seeds & various tree seeds such as seeds from the box elder trees, pines,& they like all kinds of fruit & insects.
This will be my submission for world bird Wed.Go to the springman`s blog & show us your backyard bird this week. Now let`s see if I get the link right this week...http://pineriverreview.blogspot.com/
