Pilated Woodpeckers
Two pilateds worked on some oaks today as I stood waiting for the dogs to come inside. Not the greatest pictures because of the lighting, but I was happy to get this close to them. I cropped the shots, then decided to allow for the whole picture to be seen as the foliage & their colors were so pretty.

Nice shots! I love the owl pic in your header too. We used to have Northern Flickers out in WA and they caused a lot of damage to my cedar sided house. Pecked a hole in the wall and made their nest! You could hear the babies in the spring, inside my walls. It sounded like an aviary.
