We have to pasture the goats somewhere else this summer. We are thinking of using their fenced area at the barn now as our veg.garden, planting a grain crop between rows so we can place them back there in the winter. My DH thinks of getting a portable pen we can take up & move every week or so.I don`t know how that would work, maybe if we had 2 portable pens. But where the pine came down is alot of brush & leaning trees & just an unhealthy growth area.I was going to put them in there, but the deer travel through there,so would I be openning up a slew of health problems for them? they would love it,I`m sure, scrambling over the dead logs.I would extend it out to the apple trees & the green grass there as well.We never get any produce from the apple trees,& the goats would love them.Where they are at now needs to be let go for the summer, anyhow.
Pictures of Hunter & the dogs.He is coming along in growing his hair back.Just a sweet dog.He has gotten bitten by the macaws,& Hunter has bit me 4 different times as I try to swipe him away from their intending bites.Guess he will have to learn on his own ,the hard way.
