Anniversary

This would have been Rich & my 41st anniversary. It was spitting snow, raining,& cold that day we were married. It was a beautiful day today though.

We would go out to eat at the red lobster in the past 10 years or more. One year I caught this barred owl as we were about to leave to eat .I already blogged it back in 2008,but here the owl is today in remembrance.
He looks like an old man with a mustache. I hate that electrical line in the way of the picture.....love how he swivels his head all around.I could have maybe gotten closer, but didn`t want to scare him.

Wild Bird Wed.

A quick note to say Bucky is now living with the couple who came to meet him.He was a bit too much for Pappy to handle,but they too fell in love with the dog.Bucky dressed in orange on Mon.& went hunting with Matt,which I am sure he loved.He slept in their bed at night.I am so happy for him .....and them...
I have no new pictures of birds for wild bird Wed.,so I`m re-posting the barred owl we had in 2008.He was perched above the corn pile looking for varmits.I just want to remind everyone,please don`t use poison to kill mice.If the owls ing

est a mouse with poison in them,they too will die,as well as any other raptors.

I always like to go back & see what things looked like last year & before at this time of year.We had beautiful skies in 2006,the goats were younger & had already grown back beautiful fleece.
Last year at this time I wasn`t taking many photos,mourning the loss of Max. By Thanksgiving though,we had found a sheltie,Bandit,to keep our Maggie & us company.
Fast forward to now...I had to post a couple more pics of the barred owl.As always,click on pic to make bigger.Also look at how big the goats got in 2 years.As they grow older,their fleece won`t be as nice as the kid mohair.

Barred Owl

This was the highlight of my day today,seeing this owl.He was so beautiful.I believe he had something going on with a pack of crows today.Crows were soundly loudly this afternoon,much later on today than taking these photos,& I saw the owl in pursuit of them.One of the crows had raided a nest & partnered up with his other kin with white eggs in his beak.They were really making a racket.Then the owl flew in behind them.I hope I will get to see him tomorrow.I don`t believe the barred owl lays eggs now,they usually lay in March or April,so I don`t really know what nest the crows raided.
