Rehoming Susie, the death of my parrot,a new puppy/Sat.`s critters

It has been such a long time since I have written. I am going to try & play catch up with Eileen for Sat`s critters, link up here

Susie, the golden I rescued, started becoming more & more dominate with the yard space, proclaiming  that the snow was hers, all hers, biting all of the dogs who were enjoying running & playing in the snow,so that was the end of the rope for me ,so she had to go.I had worked with her a good 6 months or more.It was difficult finding someone to take an 8 year old who didn`t already have a dog.I couldn`t risk sending her to a home with other dogs. Finally, my brother`s pastor was looking for a dog for his little boys, one that was already trained & out of the nipping stage.Susie was perfect for the family.

The last day of March I was shocked to find Elvis dead at the bottom of his cage, still clutching a peanut. He had been with us 35 years & had prior owners,so he was quite old,but I was devestated. No more will we hear,do you wanna drink? wanna apple? I guess he just lived a long life & it was his time to go. I imagine he is on my husband`s shoulder in heaven.

Finally, I am not a german shepard person, but when this puppy became available,I took her,her name is Sonya. She will be 12 weeks at the end of the month. It has been 8 years since I have had a puppy,so it has been challenging. She is a shiloh shepard, long haired.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Heat

The heat here is extreme.I`m wondering if I should even bother getting out the goats to graze, they have been lying down shortly after I get them out.I`m still expecting extreme winds or storms as the robins I`ve noticed have been building nests & having babies in tangled honeysuckle vines & thick, dense rose bushes.I wonder if they know something we don`t.
Here is my Elvis making his "nest"under a newspaper. He makes a tent & naps under it.I believe he is too old now to rest himself sleeping on the perch.
Here are some "spikes" growing on the leaves of these trees. Now I should know what they are but can`t think of it,guess I will hunt down the knowledge.
Here are some pics of the flowers blooming. They are getting hit by the heat & won`t last long.
A white-breasted nuthatch who only comes to the feeder in the late afternoon.

The African Greys

African Greys are the perfect birds for someone starting out with parrots. We have a second hand timeh who is about 20 years old at least. When he takes naps now,he makes a tent with his newspaper on the bottom of his cage, then goes under it for his nap.I really believe it`s cause he`s so old that he falls from his perch when he is in a sound sleep. He talks alot & will bite me every chance he gets. His name is Elvis-not the name I would`ve chose but we kept it.

My congo grey I`ve had since he was a baby. Her name is Zeba.We had her about 10 years. She will say anything, especially when it is emphasised. Our son when he lived with us said "that`s bullshit"alot{I wonder why he would say that?!} & when he moved out, then came to visit,Zeba will say, that`s bullshit.I guess she thinks that id his name.Ha! But she is very smart, she knows our neighbors by name & phone # ,she talks on the phone & knows my name & # is just very amusing & entertaining.
