Weather & things...

Last year on my dh`s birthday on the 17th,we were without power for almost 2 days due to an ice storm. We have been getting rain & wet snow this year, but may get the ice later on today.
I am dealing with back pain & still have rattles in my lungs. The arthitis doc did call me here at home last night to tell me I had broken the T6 bone in my back, after taking more xrays on Mon.I asked about the rattles, but he thinks that will resolve itself.I will call my family doc about it,I`m not comfortable letting this go as I have no luck when it concerns my health.
We have not gone Christmas shopping,we like to wait till the last minute, then rush around. We feel we get the best bargins by waiting....ho,ho,ho
I`m leaving you with last year memories of our ice storm that uprooted many of our older trees. We let them lay in the forest to provide food & shelter to the critters who live among us.The goats last year loved to trample on the ice,I let them loose to explore some.

Oh Phyllis, I'm so sorry you're sick and in pain. I hope that you are being pampered; you deserve it.

*As for the "chest rattles" make sure you're getting plenty of fluids, and even if you don't feel like it, get up and move around as much as you can each day.

Also--and this is important--practice taking a slow, deep breath, hold it to the count of 10, then breathe out slowly. Breathe normally for about one minute, then repeat. Do this 10 times every two hours you're awake--really. Don't be surprised if it makes you cough; that's good.

With your illness and fracture, you are at risk for pneumonia. The deep breathing helps keep your lungs as open as possible. The moving around encourages good breathing and blood flow to the lungs.

*I'm not a doctor, but I have asthma and get bronchitis every winter and have had pneumonia.

I'm off the internet to leave for Christmas vacation on Monday.

Take care---Fiona

I agree-it sounds like Fiona is right on track here-and how could anyone with a dog like that be wrong?!
Hope you are better by now.
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.
Love, Debra
