Ice Storm

One of my promises to myself this year is to take a course on learning more about my camera, what it can do,& the photoshop I have but rarely use .Here are some pictures of our ice storm, but it is more beautiful to see than I can capture with my canon.
The birds nests left empty are beautiful, check out the robins nest that had ribbons placed in it.I decorate the vegetable garden with ribbons, thinking it deters critters from pecking at our tomatoes & things. Here they have taken them & lined their nest with them.

Beautiful. I love the ribbons. What a fun thing to have in your garden and then find in the bird's nest.

Thanks for sharing.

I love to find things in the nests. One year my neighbor had a 40th birthday balloon find its way here & in a nest, deflated balloon & ribbon attached.I had to bring her down here to see it.Things like that amaze me.We stll have a nest with the blue walmart bag in I posed about in the very beginning of this blog.phylliso

The pictures are beautiful but I know along with that come other problems...electrical outages, icy roads, etc. Be careful! Hope you don't have to run into town and can just sit back, relax and work on your projects! Take care friend!

Blessings from the Ridge

What beautiful pictures! Ice, even though it is treacherous on the roads, sure is beautiful on the trees!

What I am afraid is when the wind starts, the sound of the ice blowing off the trees & trees toppling on up in the woods kept me from taking the dogs out one last time for the night.Maggie ran down the ramp, heard the noise,& back up she came. They didn`t wake me in the middle of the night either as they sometimes do,I was thankful for that!phylliso

Phyllis,
I love your photos. I'm with you-I need to learn more about my(son's) camera.
He has helped me with Photoshop-I can do a few things.I never thought I'd love photography like I do.
I need to take a picture of a Bald Eagle's nest near Montezeuma Swamp. It is on top of some old electric posts-it's huge! We saw them on it one time.

But you know, there's something so sweet about finding the
'ordinary' little birds nests and remembering their wonderful songs...
