World Bird Wed.dark eyed junco junco hyemalis

It`s been another week since I`ve blogged.Thank God I push myself to do world bird Wed.or maybe it would be another week.
I chose the dark-eyed junco, mainly because I have a recent picture of them fueling up at the feeders to fly away till next winter.
I did not know that this bird is a relative of the sparrow, nor did I realize that they love hogging up the thistle seeds, hanging off the socks of thistle, chasing the finches away.I can hardly afford to feed them all, thistle seed is quite expensive.
I`m adding a picture of some of my flowers, blooming beautifully in spite of the rough storms we`ve had this past week.
Go to the springman`s blog to see all the beautiful birds from around the world, add your backyard birds too!http://worldbirdwednesday.blogspot.com/

Juncos are always fun, flittering around and attacking and then leaving. Love them.

I do not know very much about birds, they are very diffucult to shoot - but I will visit your blogs to learn something more. It seems like you, over the ocean, have many coloured birds - here they are more or less grey, but small heros, surviving our severe winter that last nearly half a year!

Cute shot! I am still seeing a few Juncos. Usually they leave in the spring since they are my winter snow birds. I have never seen them at the thistle though.
