Brown Thrasher,hummingbird

I find myself just slowing down & taking time to sit & watch the birds who will be gone from here soon.I feel a tug at my heart, sadness for their journey away from here.
The baby brown thrasher has been coming to the feeder woofing down large amounts of suet cake,he looks like he`s doing a dance on the fence.I tried to get the hummingbirds in the jewelweed, they move so quickly that the pictures are grainy.http://paying-ready-attention-gallery.blogspot.com/ I submitted these on today, which is Thurs.here in Pa.as I discovered it wasn`t too late to post for wild Bird.Wed.Have a great weekend!

Oh my...your header photo is wonderful! You already know how I feel about brown thrashers! I love 'em!
I feel just like you-a hint of sadness to see the birds go-even though I love hearing the geese-I always love the flights northward the best. We still have our hummers, but some of the nigths have been close to 40 degrees. I am always sad when they are gone. We have robins all year-some stay, but most travel on. I will miss my cat birds too. They are so vocal around here, and keep me company when I'm in my gardens.
I'm sending you a hug. We will still have the chickadees to cheer us!

Add me to the fan club of your header photo! I was also thinking about birds leaving today too when I heard and saw a chickadee for the first time in I don't know when--All too soon it will be time to feed those hungry little mouths.

Thanks Debra,I need some hugs these days!
Thanks Kim,the female cardinal really had ahold of the male`s beak in the header photo!I hope with the high prices on the bird seed that people will still be able to afford to buy seed this winter.phyllis

I'd love to see either of these birds in my garden - but thats not going to happen!

The BT does look like its doing some form of odd dance.

Thanks for sharing these photos with us! I love watching the hummingbirds come to the feeder and I feel rather sad when I don't see them anymore. It's amazing that you could catch them with your camera.
