Blogger issues & the cats & our free tree

I have been unable to post anything on my blog for the last several days.I uninstalled google chrome finally, then someone told me to try the blogger link .I did,but I am still not happy with things.I can get on after using the HTML button instead of the new post or compose button.I don`t know why everything has to change & then you are left on your own trying to figure out things.Oh,well...Thanks go out to a lady in the forum who helped me. Thanks to Mr.Ed for providing free trees to people, our son got the last 2,they were asked to take both of them,so they did.I have a real tree this year as well as the other trees I have about.I had to laugh at the cats.Do you want to bet on how long the tree will stay up? Everyone takes a sniff except Mittens,7 of them about it. Mittens will have to go to the vet`s again. She has a spot behind her ear that never heals.I bathed her yesterday with oxiderm shampoo & put coconut oil on her when she dried. She seemed better after I did that, however she has started scratching at the spot again today.Ear mites are out, ringworm is out,the vet thinks she could have cancer there, but to get a sample with where it is would be hard. She won`t keep a collar on & a sock cut to fit over the spot she can push away,it won`t stay that high up to completely cover it.She seems miserable. She does have dry skin & I believe that spot is the only area she can reach to scratch. She was my mom`s cat.The only different thing that I have done is stopped adding wet food to her diet because with 8 cats & 3 dogs it was like I was being mobbed in the morning.I put coconut oil on top of their food to see how all of these things will help.I don`t know what else to do for her. Well, now that I added pictures,I see they are not here. Will they magically appear when I hit the publish button?I couldn`t even add a capton to any....Mr.Curley Eared looks like he is deeming the tree as his.lol.

I understand your frustration. I've only recently looked at blogging again but pretty much have given up because it seems to take forever to figure things out where before, several years ago, when I did it, it was easy.
Poor Mittens. You might consider a product you get over the counter - Fungisan, which is an antiseptic, germicidal, antifungal spray for skin conditions. We used it on Rosie's spot on her head -- she had a deep scratch from scratching herself, we think, and it healed up quickly after the Fungisan treatment, but left a bald spot there and around it. It looked like it was spreading so we continued with Fungisan and it looks like her hair is growing back. Of course, you might check with your vet before you do it. Mittens' head is much worse than Rosie's was. If we do have to take Rosie to the vet, I'll take a copy of your picture with me and ask him. I hope it isn't cancer. I wonder why they can't test for that now? I don't get that. I hope she heals up!

Ouch...I'm sure that is uncomfortable. Just a couple of thoughts. My first thought was ear mites...I have just had an awful battle with them here wherein the meds from the vet weren't working. I did read that the mites can migrate into their fur at times. If it started after removing the wet food, it's possible she is having an allergic reaction to the dry food. I know it would be hard, but perhaps try and corral her in a separate room and feed her the wet food and give that a few weeks to see if it helps? Another thought is that she may be a little stressed out and does this to 'cope' (much like some people will gnaw their fingernails). The only solution for that would be something that would calm her. I would have done as you and added the coconut oil both on the food and rubbed on. Hope you can figure something out. I would guess it's not cancer, but I'm no vet! ha...

(p.s. I feed my cats canned food a.m. and p.m. and they get free choice dry during the day. They get excited but no mobbing! I run it like a drill camp and everyone eats out of their own plate or they get scolded and redirected. It's kinda funny how they head for their assigned spots. I feed some up on high surfaces and some on the floor so there is space. :-0)

p.s. Your kitties all look fabulously healthy--shiny and well fed. Loved the picture with them all checking out the tree....exactly why I don't have one anymore!
