Quilting Project

This is what I`ve been working on.I will hand stitch the appliques on it by hand.Sometimes my Pfaff sewing machine & I have disaggreements. This quilt is called Grandma`s Garden & is in the book Floral Quilts by Michelle Blackhurst. The quilts are cottage style.I`m not used to working with loud colors,my stash is full of primitive fabric like homespuns, but I managed to piece alot of it with fabric I already had.

I started handsewing it ,& my dh said,do you HAVE to handstitch all that,as if I couldn`t do it,so I did try on the machine & so far so good. But it will be slow going as I have Savannah,my 2&1/2 year old here for a couple of days.I love the big foxgloves & flowers,it`s such a cheery quilt that goes together really fast. Thanks, girls!phylliso

Thanks for the comment Phyllis. Even though I know I'm not the only one that feels that way sometimes, it still helps to be reminded. :)
And that quilt looks adorable! Hand stitching is so time consuming but sometimes it's just nicer to sit down with the needle and thread and not worry about fussing with the machine. It's therapeutic!
And what you said about eating the locally grown food is completely true. I need to start doing the same.

That is a lovely quilt. As the Mistress of LOUD COLORs I have to commend you. LOL That looks pretty subdued to me who thinks everything has to have 47 different colors on a square inch to be satisfying! Truly, It is just adorable. i think it would make a lovely table runner also. Hugs, Robin

You know Phyllis,
we use to camp in a place called Colonel Dennings when I was growing up. There was a lake there that we swam in, brutally cold but lovely. It seemed to me that it was damned at one end. It that place near to where you are by any chance? I grew up in Baltimore County, off of 83 south of York Pa. Have aI already told you this. Loosing it I think LOL. Hugs Robin

How pretty! I love applique. These colors are so summery! Are you fusing the appliques on before you stitch them? I learned a new technique for doing it at the quiltfest and can share it if you would like!
