Mushrooms
This is the time of the year we look for those edible mushrooms,we both forget what they are called, beefsteak maybe. We only found these 2 I placed on the deck rail to photograph.I love butter bread sandwiches made of them fried.
By the time of year, late Aug.they emerge from the ground, color, texture,& smell, plus they have to have milk coming from them as you snap them from the ground.Soak in salt water to get the buggies out, then fry in butter, yum, yum.I must say my dh has found most of them,we try to let the roots so they will come up again, phylliso
The mushroom hunting has been passed down to us from family,so I recommend not eating unless you know what you are eating.Upon googling our mushrooms,I believe they may be called the chanterelle harvest mushroom.phylliso

Phyllis, How do you know which ones to eat? The photos are marvelous. Love, Robin
