Smart Kitty

I take Simba back to the vet tomorrow.I`m anxious about how he`ll do not being on an antiboctic soon,he still has some left.I`m thinking he`ll be ok as he has had no more seizures for us.
He loves to terrorize little Hunter,Hunter acts as tho he`s afraid of Simba, much to the cat`s delight.Simba practices his hunting skills hiding behind things, then pouncing out at Hunter,to which Hunter gives a raw, raw, raw to warn him off, then hides behind me.
Simba has figured out how to turn on the light in our living room,he has turned on the bedroom light,& when he turned on the answering machine & the man`s voice said, you have no more new messages,I almost jumped out of my skin.We can`t imagine how we got along without him now.
On a somber note,I went back to the farm,& there`s only 4 kittens left.Cathleen thinks the wild tomcat has been dragging them off.The kitty I want doesn`t behave too well, she looks sickly, really only 1 looks well.I`m afraid to bring home anymore. If it was just me here,I would bring them all here ,but my dh has health issues & I don`t want him at risk for getting anything. She told me distempter runs in their cats. So,will see how it goes...

I'm so glad to hear Simba is doing well. The light thing is a hoot. My cats did the answering machine thing too, which nearly scared me to death. They've also turned it off several times. As for another kitten--if there is somewhere outside of the house you could set up a temporary cage for it and keep it quarenteened for a couple of weeks? This way you could get its shots, and bring it up to some sembalance of health. There aren't a whole lot of cat/people communicable diseases, but at this point it would be better for Simba to not be further exposed without some sort of period of quareenteen. Poor little kitties. I hope you can bring another one into a good pampered life.

I`m going to talk to the vet Fri.about it.We are having 100 degree weather out here,at least in the concrete barn they are living in now is cool for them.I really would like for Simba to have another cat friend.I feel sure I will get another kitten from the farm as they need homes badly. It`s really not safe for them with all those cows & work going on.I`m sure I could keep him quarenteened here in the house for awhile. The kittens still have blue eyes, but I believe they are ready to go.This kitten is from a different mama.I was going to suggest having them spayed, but Cathleen said she thinks that they are pregnant again already.Oh,my,I could see myself becoming the cat woman too.phyllis

Hey Phyllis,
I would say getting a kitten out of there would be better than leaving it even if it a little young for normal weaning. Anything after six weeks is only going to be improved with good food and a safe environment. Seems like my kitties had blue eyes for a long time--way past eight weeks. Good luck!
