House wren troglodytes aedon

Let the songs begin, most all of our migrates have arrived. The catbird has been here almost a week now, showing himself yesterday.I have been hearing his elaborate singing for awhile though.
The hummingbirds were here starting on Sun.I placed the feeders in the same places except for 1.I placed it so I could hide & get some better shots.I have to practice my skills at being quick on the draw with the camera once again.
My bird for world bird Wednesday is the house wren.We also have the carolina wren here too. There is a slight difference in their heads & the way they hold their tails. This house wren was having a difficult time putting twigs in this gourd. But after many failed attempts,he finally got this twig inside.I haven`t checked on him yet this am.
Leaving you with some other outdoor blooms & birds....& the link where you can share your stories & birds...http://pineriverreview.blogspot.com/

That looks a cosy nest for the Wren :)

You have the early birds. Our wrens haven't arrived yet, nor the hummers or catbirds. We do have an oriole and the swallows are back. Can't wait for everyone else...

PS Your pics are great!

I did not get a chance to see everyones photos for WBW,but I believe I got to everyones blogs who commented here, thanks for your comments. We had such storms come through our area here yesterday & major flooding again,I was unable to get online very much.
Springman,I would send you gourd seeds if I could. If you go online you maybe able to find them ,they are called....birdhouse gourd seeds! You need a long growing season,I believe 120 days. Some years I don`t get any as I sowed them too late. The birds will make the openning bigger on their own,but don`t forget to poke a few small holes in the bottom of the gourd so the babies stay dry in the event of storms like we`ve been getting here.phyllis

Awesome pictures! You have a real talent with a camera.

Hey, I've tried to send you an e-mail I wrote several times today but it won't go through; says that the recipient's (that's you) e-mail was rejected by the server. Maybe the problem is MY server, but I don't see why. Are you having problems with your e-mail? I figured this is an alternate way to contact you.

Hi, Phyllis - me again.

I think it IS MY server. I'll have to call my ISP.
