World Bird Wed.

Not a very good picture,but I was so stunned at what was in the cardinal`s mouth that I waited too long to snap the picture.He had a devil of a time getting the bug in his mouth,I thought he was tearing the leaf off a joe pye weed plant,so I put the camera down & watched & then there was this big bug in his mouth.It kinda looks like a praying mantis,but am not sure.

An interesting shot Phyllis. I think it might be something other than a praying mantis however (at least I hope so, I am very fond of them)because of the long antennae. I'm thinking Katydid?

Nothing like swallowing something the size of an elephant!
