The saga of Jake the turkey continues

I`m outside weeding by the old goats pen the am,& heard something behind me.I didn`t look, but as the rustling got closer,I realized that it wasn`t a robin, turned,& was face to face with Jake. The turkey scared the living daylights out of me.He made these sweet sounds,a murmuring,& I went to out birdfeeder with a bucket,& this is the first time that I ever removed birdseed from it,instead of filling it.I went back calling him,& he came to me.He ate a few seeds, but was more interested in our wood pile & scratching through the leaves for bugs or acorns.
A nuthatch was protesting his visit.

I think Jake is lonely and wants you to be his friend! :-)

Hah,hah! I think maybe he was someone`s pet who let him out to fend for himself, poor Jake.

Well, how neat is that to be so close to him!
