A quick note to say Bucky is now living with the couple who came to meet him.He was a bit too much for Pappy to handle, but they too fell in love with the dog.Bucky dressed in orange on Mon.& went hunting with Matt, which I am sure he loved. He slept in their bed at night.I am so happy for him .....and them...
I have no new pictures of birds for wild bird Wed.,so I`m re-posting the barred owl we had in 2008.He was perched above the corn pile looking for varmits.I just want to remind everyone, please don`t use poison to kill mice.If the owls ing
est a mouse with poison in them, they too will die,as well as any other raptors.
Please go to Stewart`s blog to join in the fun of wild bird Wed.at this link paying-ready-attention-gallery.blogspot.com/

We are so glad to hear about Bucky. :)
Monty and Harlow
I am so happy too.I worried Pappy would get him, then get sick or something, then there he`d be,a confused big boy.My prayers & everyone else`s worked,I love that dog so much in the short time he lived with us,but he is in an active home now with people who will train him to walk properly on a leash, ect.at my small 118 lbs.,he was too hard for me to handle & it wasn`t fair for him.Praise to the dear Lord,He watches over all...
The link I attached in my blog for wild bird Wed. I couldn`t get to work, maybe it is working now,but if not, just google it,phyllis
I have lots of barred owl pictures also. We used to hear them all the time here but we were just talking yesterday how we haven't heard or seen any for a long time. Doug had a wildlife rehab center in his former life :), and he said most every raptor they got was a victim of poison, so that's a good reminder you put on your blog. Most people don't think of those things.
Thank-you Aleta. Our neighbor puts out poison, kills the chipmunks & other critters, just makes me sad that people do not think about their choises.phyllis
Wow! Great owl photos!
Good news about Bucky. A good reminder too about the rat poison and the owls. I never would have thought of that though we don't have owls where I live.
What a bird to have visit you.
i love the barreds - our most frequent owl here. :)
Great photos of your owl. I have never seen one in the wild before. So exciting to see them in their natural habitat.
