Michaux State Forest

I drove a couple of minutes up the road this afternoon to hike & photograph some fall colors. The woods have not changed much yet. There were a lot of people out & about riding bikes, I didn`t see any boats on the lake, but there were some tied up on trucks.
wrong time of day to get good pictures of the vista
a lot of the forest is fenced in now
the fences have something to do with keeping out the deer in certain areas
kinda scares me that someone would target practice here

So beautiful! This is my favorite time of year -- all golden and warm, a time of change. Seems that in my life major changes have always happened in the fall. We went up to our spring today and I should have taken my camera -- there was one tree that was barely holding on, braced only by an edge on top of the base that it broke off of, held precariously at its top by other trees. While we were up there, huge limbs fell off of trees around us, making it dangerous. Lots of wet leaves to get through, what with all the rain we've had.
